Job summary

Brown Advisory Incorporated, based in Baltimore, seeks an Alternative Asset Analyst to manage the full investment lifecycle of private equity, hedge funds, and direct investments. You will generate monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc reports, research valuation issues, and support pricing decisions with data-driven insights.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/economics and 1–3 years of relevant experience; strong Excel skills (macros, VLOOKUP) and attention to detail are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics required; concentration preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including macros and VLOOKUP.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Independently review, research and update valuations for alternative assets.
• Produce analytics for managerial reporting on a regular or ad‑hoc basis.
• Partner with investment teams to create new alternative assets and ensure reporting accuracy.
• Validate statements from fund companies and resolve valuation discrepancies.
• Engage custodians, funds, and internal teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Lead and participate in value‑add projects and present findings to leadership.
