The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a vital role in the successful operation of the Alterations department, ensuring superior customer service. The CSR is responsible for providing an A+ customer experience to David’s Bridal customers and reports to the Store Manager. Responsibilities include welcoming and servicing customers, making appointments, answering phones, pressing garments, and preparing items for pickup.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Welcome all customers warmly via phone, virtual chats, and in person; communicate clearly and adapt style to meet customer needs, resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Manage customer flow using all systems to deliver a five-star experience.
  • Meet all service vows: Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs & Be There, including operational tasks and addressing customers' emotional and practical needs.
  • Provide exceptional service to multiple customers simultaneously, proactively resolve concerns, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Effectively communicate how alterations enhance the dress for her event, partnering with Alterations.
  • Promote all alterations services and personalization options.
  • Maintain store standards: cleanliness, organization, promotional readiness, and store recovery.
  • Adhere to dress code standards.
  • Greet and escort alterations customers for appointments.
  • Press, steam, and spot clean merchandise; ensure garments are in pristine condition before delivery.
  • Build long-term customer relationships to foster satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Support inventory management, process special orders, and ensure merchandise meets quality standards.
  • Handle transactions accurately at the cash wrap to ensure customers feel celebrated.
  • Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager for unresolved customer issues.
  • Keep the alterations room clean and organized.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Physical Demands:
  • Stand, walk, sit for extended periods; reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
  • Use hands and arms for tasks, including sewing and Fitting, with manual dexterity.
  • Lift/move up to 10 pounds.
  • See clearly at close and distance, use peripheral vision, and read/use electronic devices for long periods.
Education & Credentials:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years retail experience in apparel or specialty store.
  • Prior sewing experience is helpful.
  • Experience with POS systems.
