Job summary

Textron Systems - ATAC seeks an ALSE Technician responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling ALSE and related survival equipment to ensure proper operation aboard aircraft and flight readiness. You will manage records, plan maintenance, train personnel, and support field repairs with an emphasis on safety and accuracy.

This role requires strong attention to detail and adherence to industry standards and technical publications.

Qualifications

• 4 years of ALSE support, equipment modification and repair are required.
• Shall be a qualified PR “A” School graduate or equivalent course to perform ALSS maintenance.
• Must maintain ALSE repair skills including sewing, communications repair, and equipment buildup.
• Must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance and NACLC/ANACI eligibility.

Summary:

The Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) Technician inspects, maintains, repairs, and overhauls ALSE, personal survival equipment, and aircraft installed survival equipment to assure the proper maintenance and operation aboard aircraft.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintains and manages the inspection, maintenance and adjustments to assigned aircrew flight equipment/ALSE to include night vision goggles, flight helmets, survival vest, exposure suits, aviation modular survival systems, aircraft first aid kits, and supporting components
• Plans, directs, organizes, and evaluates Aircrew Flight Equipment operations pertaining to equipment accountability, personnel reliability, mobility, aircrew fit, and other such activities required to meet operational readiness
• Maintains inspection and repair databases/ALSE records to ensure equipment accountability, submits equipment for higher level repair through proper channels and ensures proper disposal of all unserviceable ALSE
• Establishes performance standards in accordance with industry best practices and technical publications
• Performs prescribed cleaning, preservation, and operator maintenance of ALSE shop tools and equipment
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, overhaul, test, service, preserve and clean ALSE
• Ensures serviceability based on required specifications and current technical publications
• Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of on-aircraft ALSE
• Ensure all equipment requiring calibration is scheduled for and receives periodic TMDE calibration
• Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance procedures, pyrotechnic and explosive devices, and aircraft egress systems
• Training of maintenance personnel to perform tasks in support of ALSE field repair
• Briefs and trains aircrew on the proper use of ALSE to include all aircraft onboard equipment
• Briefs aircrew, non-aircrew, and civilian personnel in the operational use, and maintenance of ALSE
• Assist with coordination of ALSE in support of detachments as necessary
• Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects
• Additional responsibilities as delineated by the Director of Flight Operations, VP ACE and on-site Maintenance Manager
• Manage programs and tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements of this position include, but are not limited to, 4 years of ALSE support, equipment modification and repair
• Shall be a qualified PR “A” School graduate or equivalent Air Force or Army MOS course to be allowed to perform ALSS system maintenance
• Must maintain ALSE repair skills to include sewing, communication repair, and equipment buildup
• Must be able to satisfactory completion of a National Agency Check Local Records and Credit (NACLC) or Access National Agency Check with written Inquiries (ANACI), eligibility for a SECRET clearance
• Shall be able to obtain a DOD CAC card privileges to ensure access to flight line workspaces and critical information systems
• Must be capable of performing in a supervisory, detachment lead and/or team lead role
• Must be experienced and competent in the supervision and inspection of complex maintenance actions
• Must have proven effective leadership experience and adept at enforcing Ground Operating Procedures (GOP’s) and safety practices
• Performance will be continuously monitored by supervision and reviewed annually with the employee

ADA Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, climb in and out of aircraft
• Must be able to use hand and power tools
• Must have the dexterity to handle small parts
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to deploy to support off station exercises and perform other support duties as assigned

The pay range should be used as a general guide only. Compensation is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is

$39 - $49 per hour.
