Job summary
Essnova Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the ALS-U Cable Plant and electrical infrastructure at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, covering design, planning, installation, integration, testing, and commissioning in a high-tech research setting.
The engineer will collaborate with subsystem leads and technicians to ensure electrical and cabling requirements align with NEC and LBNL/ALS-U standards, developing schematics, layouts, BOMs, and installation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 2+ years of experience; or Master’s with 1+ year.
- Experience designing and implementing electrical, electronics, and facility systems.
- Experience interpreting electrical drawings: schematics, layouts, BOMs.
Responsibilities
- Design and engineer AC distribution and electrical infrastructure.
- Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and installation work instructions.
- Evaluate cable routing and tray/raceway solutions for ALS-U.
- Apply NEC and LBNL/ALS-U practices to distribution and installation.
- Coordinate interfaces across engineering disciplines and with contractors.
- Support installation planning, readiness reviews, and commissioning.
- Maintain as-built records and configuration-controlled documentation.
