The Nathan P. Staff Laboratory at Mayo Clinic is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to investigate cellular and molecular ALS mechanisms using iPSC-derived motor neurons from patients with genetic ALS forms.

The fellow will design and execute experiments combining stem-cell culture, CRISPR perturbations, high-content imaging, electrophysiology, and multi-omics analyses to study axonal transport and RNA/protein homeostasis and identify therapeutic targets.

Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in neuroscience, cell biology, bioengineering, genetics, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with human iPSC culture/differentiation preferred.
• Proficiency in CRISPR editing, electrophysiology, quantitative imaging, or omics; strong publication record.
• Ability to work as a collaborative team member within and outside the program.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments using stem-cell culture, differentiation, CRISPR perturbations, imaging, electrophysiology, and omics analyses.
• Perform quantitative data analysis, manuscript preparation, and present findings at national meetings.
• Collaborate with clinicians, bioengineers, and computational scientists.
