Job summary

UNH is seeking an Assistant Coach for Alpine Skiing to support the head coach with planning, training, fundraising, and program development for a NCAA Division I Alpine program, including course setting, conditioning, and on-hill instruction.

Travel with the team to competitions, support NCAA compliance, monitor student‑athlete academic progress, and actively recruit qualified skiers. Contribute to outreach efforts, uphold safety and welfare, and maintain high standards of professionalism.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience in alpine skiing at college or club level.
• Experience in ski racing and course setting.
• Familiarity with NCAA intercollegiate athletics.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Ability to pass NCAA coaches certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in program planning and training/conditioning program development.
• Assist in all on-hill training sessions, including course setting/maintenance, video analysis, timing setup, and safety netting.
• Travel with the team to all competitions, making travel reservations and attending race day operations.
• Assist with NCAA compliance issues and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Encourage student-athletes to achieve academic progress and support APR/GSR targets.
• Assist with fundraising and community outreach activities.
• Assess talent and actively recruit student-athletes suitable for UNH academic programs.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Head Coach.
• Maintain competency with state and federal laws, university policies and NCAA rules.
• Report violations to the Director of Athletics and represent the University professionally.
