Job Description

The Front Desk Supervisor assists the Front Desk Manager and/or General Manager by providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests before arrival and throughout their stay. The role also involves maximizing room revenue and occupancy.

Qualifications
  • At least 2 to 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field; High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • College coursework in a related field is helpful.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license for the applicable state required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work well under stress, handle guest objections and disputes satisfactorily.
  • Ability to show initiative, anticipate needs, and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, including anticipating, preventing, and resolving workplace issues.
  • Ability to assimilate complex information from various sources and adapt as needed.
  • Strong listening skills to understand and clarify concerns of guests and coworkers.
  • Ability to work with and understand financial data and perform basic arithmetic.
Responsibilities
  • Approach all guest and associate interactions with friendliness and a service-oriented attitude.
  • Maintain regular attendance as per Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
  • Comply with all hotel standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Maintain a friendly, warm demeanor at all times.
  • Set the standard for guest relations at the Front Desk.
  • Gather all necessary information for room reservations.
  • Monitor VIP and special guest requests.
  • Review daily logs and trace files.
  • Understand and execute all relevant front desk computer system functions.
  • Ensure the timely and professional handling of messages, packages, and mail.
  • Be familiar with current rates, packages, promotions, and in-house groups.
  • Be aware of closed out and restricted dates.
  • Follow and enforce all credit policies.
  • Perform all duties of a Front Desk Agent as needed.
  • Complete and file room rate verification, bucket check, and housekeeping reports accurately.
  • Operate the PBX console properly, meeting all standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments, setting an example as a leader.
  • Assist the G.S.M. in ensuring staff adherence to standards (e.g., answering phones, guest requests).
  • Know and assist with emergency procedures.
  • Oversee guest check-in and check-out processes ensuring friendliness and efficiency.
  • Ensure shift checklist tasks are completed timely and efficiently.
  • Maintain attentiveness, friendliness, helpfulness, and courtesy at all times.
  • Maximize room revenue through merchandising.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and planning.
  • Help maintain productivity levels at or above standards.
  • Perform any other duties as required by management.
  • Assist in training new and current staff regularly.
  • Attend required meetings.
  • Access to back-of-house areas and sensitive information must be controlled responsibly.
  • Handle cash, prepare deposits, and balance bank securely.
  • Interact with guests and colleagues, sometimes unsupervised.
  • Control access to sensitive areas, including master keys and secured rooms.
  • Drive safely for company business.
  • Uphold high levels of trust and responsibility, exercising sound judgment and representing the company well.
