Job summary

Alltech is seeking a Fermentation Operations Technician to support daily fermentation processes, monitor parameters, maintain equipment, and ensure product quality. The role requires teamwork, adherence to safety protocols, and strong attention to detail in a production setting.

The position involves 12-hour shifts (day or night) and potential OT, with clear focus on maintaining records and collaborating across teams to keep the fermentation line running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in feed, grain or supplement processing or manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to work flexible 12-hour shift (day or night) and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control the fermentation process for optimal performance.
• Weigh ingredients and prepare solutions, media, and other process related items required by production.
• Maintain and calibrate fermentation equipment
• Collect and analyze samples to ensure product quality.
• Maintain accurate records of fermentation parameters and process data
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the fermentation process
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the fermentation process.
• Follow safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintaining, preparing, cleaning, and sanitizing manufacturing areas, equipment, and materials
• Assemble/disassembling manufacturing equipment for product changeover.
• Performing material handling tasks to transport, load and unload materials to and from work areas.

Job Summary:

A Fermentation Operations Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the daily operations of the fermentation process. These tasks may include monitoring and controlling the fermentation process, maintaining equipment, and ensuring product quality. The technician works closely with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the fermentation process.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in feed, grain or supplement processing or manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to work flexible 12-hour shift (day or night) and overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be physically able to operate motor vehicle and forklift.
• Ability to lift up to 50-55 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to wear a respirator (in some designated areas)
• Must pass post-offer physical and drug screen
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in a production environment with varying temperature and noise levels.
