Job summary

SMCP North America is seeking an Allocation Planner to optimize stock distribution across Maje North America, collaborating with global teams and supporting inventory planning in a fast-paced luxury fashion environment.

The role requires 1–4 years in allocation/planning, strong analytical and communication skills, and advanced Excel capabilities. Hybrid work in NYC three days per week with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of experience in allocation, inventory management, planning, forecasting, or related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration, reporting, and presenting findings.

Responsibilities

  • Execute allocation strategies to optimize stock distribution and meet sales targets.
  • Monitor deliveries and inventory flow to ensure timely allocation per seasonal stock strategy.
  • Analyze sales and inventory trends to identify opportunities and inform allocation decisions.
  • Manage stock across stores, digital channels, and warehouses with inter-store rebalancing.
  • Track KPIs and provide reporting to support data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to support inventory initiatives.
  • Support new store openings with initial inventory setup and ongoing allocation needs.
  • Plan weeks of supply forecasting and analyze market activity.
  • Partner on SKU-level forecasts to respond to product trends.

What We Are Looking For

The ALLOCATION PLANNER develops and executes allocation and replenishment strategies, analyzes sales and inventory trends, and optimizes stock levels across the Maje North America business. The role will also support select planning responsibilities, contributing to inventory & commercial planning.

This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional and global teams to monitor performance, manage inventory flow, and identify opportunities to improve sales and stock productivity. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker with strong attention to detail, effective written + verbal communication skills, and the ability to problem-solve and execute with precision in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

ALLOCATION
  • Execute allocation strategies to optimize stock distribution and meet sales targets
  • Monitor new deliveries and inventory flow to ensure timely allocation aligned with seasonal stock strategy
  • Analyze sales and inventory trends to identify opportunities and inform allocation decisions
  • Manage stock across stores, digital, and warehouses, including regular inter-store rebalancing
  • Track key performance metrics and provide reporting and analysis to support data-driven decisions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to support business needs and inventory initiatives
  • Support new store openings through initial inventory setup and ongoing allocation needs
PLANNING
  • Manage weeks of supply forecasting. Identify focus stores & recommended stock actions
  • Maintain competitor promotional tracking & monitor market activity
  • Support commercial calendar analysis, event performance tracking, & hindsights
  • Partner on sku-level forecasts to read and react to product trends
  • Support Planning Manager on select forecasting and in-season analyses
Required Skills/Knowledge:
  • 1-4 years of experience in allocation, inventory management, planning, forecasting, or related field.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for effective collaboration, reporting, and presentation of findings/recommendations.
  • Analytical Thinking & Problem-solving: Ability to analyze data, identify risks and opportunities, and develop informed recommendations.
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy and thoroughness in managing data and reporting.
  • Advanced Excel & Data Reporting: Proficiency in Excel for analysis, reporting, and generating actionable insights. Ability to learn and work effectively within allocation and planning systems
  • Organizational Skills & Composure: Efficient in managing multiple tasks, prioritizing effectively, and maintaining productivity in a fast-paced environment
  • Efficiency and Initiative: Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on proactive problem-solving
