Job summary

Bed Bath & Beyond in Dallas seeks a Retail Allocation/Planning Analyst to manage initial purchase order allocations and replenish stock to support strong in-stock performance. The role focuses on optimizing inventory, applying allocation strategies, and partnering with Buying and Store teams to meet sales goals.

The candidate will analyze performance data using BI tools and Excel, communicating risks and recommendations effectively to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 2+ years of retail allocation, planning, or merchandising experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with allocation systems and Planning and Allocation tools preferred; Oracle Retail a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Execute initial purchase order allocations and manage replenishment to ensure timely, accurate inventory flow and strong in-stock performance for assigned departments or categories.
  • Monitor and optimize store inventory levels to achieve sales, service, and in-stock goals.
  • Maintain and optimize replenishment programs, including min/max levels, to support store demand.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize sales through improved allocation and inventory balancing across store locations.
  • Analyze business performance and develop actionable insights using BI tools and Microsoft Excel.
  • Track inbound purchase orders, communicate risks, and partner cross-functionally to mitigate inventory and supply chain issues.
  • Prepare and present allocation strategies using key retail metrics such as APS and Weeks of Supply.
  • Partner with Buying, Planning, and Store teams on assortment needs, allocation strategies, and product flow.
  • Participate in business reviews and cross-functional meetings to contribute insights and drive decision-making.

Job Duties

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • 2+ years of retail allocation, planning, or merchandising experience.

  • Highly motivated and results oriented with a demonstrated ability to deliver against inventory and service-level targets.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional partners including Buying, Planning, and Store teams.

  • Ability to present allocation strategies and action plans to leadership.

  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions, including a solid understanding of retail math concepts such as APS, Weeks of Supply, and replenishment.

  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Must have strong technical skills;specificallyMicrosoft Excel and Business Intelligence software.

  • Experience with allocation systems and Planning and Allocation tools preferred; Oracle Retail a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
