Overview

This is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts in an assigned geography. Novartis cannot offer relocation support for this role; please only apply if the location is accessible for you.

Role Summary

The Territory Account Specialist (TAS) is a sales leader who creates a tailored customer experience for each account and Healthcare Provider (HCP). As the primary Point of Contact (PoC), the TAS engages with clients to identify mutual priorities, address needs, and leverage Novartis resources to improve patient outcomes. The role requires expertise in clinical selling, account management, access navigation, problem solving, team collaboration, and omni-channel engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop strategic territory business plans based on insights and account strategies to increase product demand and meet the needs of key partners and patients.
  2. Foster clinical discussions to motivate customer advocacy and collaborate with the account team to resolve barriers and meet customer needs.
  3. Use market understanding, industry trends, and competitive insights to identify and manage business opportunities and challenges.
  4. Conduct planning meetings with stakeholders to resolve complex issues and collaborate across departments to fulfill customer requirements.
  5. Analyze market data to understand local business landscapes and lead virtual and in-person customer interactions.
  6. Implement omni-channel strategies to maximize engagement through various channels, including virtual platforms.
  7. Collaborate with regional colleagues and home-office teams to proactively address customer needs and provide access support.
  8. Provide timely access assistance and work with Patient Specialty Services to meet customer requirements efficiently.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or similar sales roles within the last 5 years.
  • Strong collaboration skills, clinical product knowledge, consistent high performance, and experience selling to large accounts and key segments.
  • Proactive with analytical skills to prioritize data-driven problem solving, demonstrating ethical leadership and compliance.
  • Reside within the territory or within 50 miles of the territory border. Willing and able to travel 60-80%. Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with therapeutic groups, disease states, account strategies, and product launches.
  • Knowledge of patient services, market access, reimbursement, specialty pharmacy, and medical calling.
Levels
  • Territory Account Specialist: 2+ years’ experience
  • Senior Territory Account Specialist: 5+ years’ experience
  • Executive Territory Account Specialist: 10+ years’ experience
Additional Information

Driving is an essential function of this role. A valid, unrestricted driver’s license is required. Novartis provides accommodations for medical restrictions where possible.

COVID-19 vaccination may be required based on customer site policies, with accommodations available for medical reasons.

Salary ranges vary by level and experience, with additional benefits including bonuses, stock units, and comprehensive health and retirement plans. Specifics will be provided upon offer.

Training will be completed within eight hours per day over a period of up to 40 hours per week.
