Summary

This is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts in an assigned geography.

The Territory Account Specialist (TAS) is a sales leader who creates a tailored customer experience for each account and healthcare provider (HCP). As the primary Point of Contact (PoC), the TAS engages with clients to identify mutual priorities, address needs, and improve patient outcomes by leveraging Novartis resources. The role requires expertise in clinical and account selling, access navigation, problem-solving, team collaboration, and omni-channel engagement.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify mutual priorities and develop strategic plans to enhance product demand, addressing key partners' and patients' needs to achieve excellent outcomes.
  • Encourage clinical discussions to motivate customer advocacy for patients and collaborate with the account team to overcome barriers and meet customer needs.
  • Use market insights, industry trends, and cross-functional strategies to anticipate and manage business opportunities and challenges.
  • Conduct planning meetings with stakeholders to solve complex issues and ensure customer requirements are met across departments.
  • Analyze market data within the territory to understand the local landscape, promote engagement, and lead virtual and in-person interactions.
  • Apply omni-channel strategies to maximize Novartis capabilities for personalized customer engagement, whether virtually or in person.
  • Collaborate with regional colleagues, field staff, and home-office teams to proactively meet customer needs and support access initiatives.
  • Provide timely access support and work with Patient Specialty Services (PSS) to address customer requirements efficiently.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or similar sales roles within the last 5 years.
  • Strong collaboration skills, clinical product knowledge, consistent high performance, and experience selling to large accounts and key segments.
  • Proactive with analytical skills to leverage data for problem-solving and customer satisfaction, maintaining ethical standards and compliance.
  • Reside within the territory or within 50 miles of the territory border; ability to travel 60-80%, driving or flying within the territory; valid driver’s license required.
  • Experience with therapeutic groups, disease states, account strategies, and product launches.
  • Knowledge of patient services, market access, reimbursement, and medical calling on HCPs for complex products or reimbursement pathways.

Leveling Guidelines: The role will be filled at a level based on experience.

  • Territory Account Specialist: 2+ years’ experience.
  • Senior Territory Account Specialist: 5+ years’ experience.
  • Executive Territory Account Specialist: 10+ years’ experience.

Driving is an Essential Function: This role requires driving; a valid, unrestricted driver’s license is necessary. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with medical restrictions if they do not eliminate the essential function.

Compensation and Benefits: Salary ranges are approximate and may vary based on location, experience, and performance. The total package may include bonuses, stock, and benefits such as medical, 401(k), and paid time off. Final compensation will be determined at offer.

Training: The selected candidate must complete initial training, which may include home study, within eight hours per day and forty hours per week.
