The Territory Account Specialist (TAS) is a driven sales business leader who designs a customized customer experience tailored to the needs of each account and HCP. Acting as the primary Point of Contact (PoC), the TAS engages with clients to identify mutual priorities and address their needs by problem-solving and leveraging Novartis resources to improve patient outcomes. The TAS possesses expertise in clinical selling, account management, access navigation, and omni-channel engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic territory business plans by pinpointing mutual priorities and utilizing insights to enhance product demand, addressing key partners' and patients' needs.
  • Encourage clinical discussions to motivate customer advocacy and involve the account team to identify barriers and offer solutions.
  • Use market understanding, industry trends, and cross-functional strategies to manage business opportunities and challenges.
  • Conduct planning meetings with stakeholders to address complex issues and collaborate across departments to meet customer needs.
  • Analyze market data to understand local trends, promote engagement, and lead virtual and in-person interactions.
  • Utilize omni-channel strategies to maximize engagement capabilities of Novartis in personalized ways.
  • Collaborate with regional colleagues and home-office teams to proactively meet customer needs and provide access support.
  • Provide timely access assistance and work with Patient Specialty Services to address customer requirements.
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is a plus.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or similar sales roles within the last 5 years.
  • Strong collaboration skills across functions, proficient communication of clinical details, and a proven track record of high performance in selling to large accounts.
  • Proactive with analytical skills to interpret data, solve problems, and uphold ethical standards and compliance.
  • Reside within the territory or within 50 miles of its border. Ability to travel 60-80% across the broad geography, with a valid driver’s license.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience with therapeutic groups, disease states, account management, and product launches.
  • Knowledge of patient services, market access, reimbursement, and medical calling on HCPs for sophisticated products.
Leveling Guidelines

The position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience:

  • Territory Account Specialist: 2+ years’ experience
  • Senior Territory Account Specialist: 5+ years’ experience
  • Executive Territory Account Specialist: 10+ years’ experience

The salary range varies by level, from approximately $93,800 to $234,000/year, with additional benefits and potential bonuses. Final pay depends on experience, location, and other factors.
