Primary Objective

The Allergy Technician serves as the primary clinical support to allergy patients by delivering high-quality, safe, effective, and compassionate allergy testing, immunotherapy, and treatment services.

Primary Objective

The Allergy Technician provides essential clinical support to allergy patients, ensuring safe and effective testing and treatment services.

Essential Functions
  • Greet and room patients
  • Prepare and administer allergy tests and subcutaneous injections
  • Monitor reactions and adjust dosing as needed
  • Mix allergenic extracts for immunotherapy
  • Document encounters and enter charges in the EHR system
  • Schedule appointments and order supplies
  • Perform blood draws for labs and RAST testing
  • Identify anaphylactic symptoms and execute emergency care
  • Explain procedures, train patients, and respond to inquiries
  • Maintain logs and create dilutions for testing
  • May administer tuberculin skin tests and train new staff
  • Maintain work queues and index reports
  • Collaborate with healthcare team and maintain safety standards
  • Maintain supplies and meet physical and mental demands
  • Work on-site with reliable attendance

Accountability

Qualifications
Education

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assisting certification preferred.

Experience

Three+ years of relevant allergy clinical experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Current CMA or RMA certification or equivalent required
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), RN, or related certifications accepted
  • Current BLS certification required
Work Environment

High-volume clinic, potential exposure to infectious diseases, use of PPE, standard medical equipment, and reasonable accommodations for disabilities.

Supervision

Reports to Operations Supervisor, with clinical oversight from ENT providers.

Position Details

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with travel to clinic locations as needed.

Physical & Mental Requirements
  • Assist with moving patients and equipment, standing, walking, sitting, typing, and reaching
  • Problem-solving, working under pressure, quick decision-making, multitasking, discretion
Other Requirements
  • Active driver’s license, reliable transportation, professional demeanor
Typical Day
