Job summary

The University of Utah Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Allergy & Immunology clinic within Dermatology. You will assist with patient care, document vital signs, and help licensed staff deliver efficient clinical services across multiple sites including Murray and Salt Lake pediatric clinics.

Responsibilities include performing phlebotomy, minor procedures, patient education, and clerical duties. Travel to several locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Current EMT or MA credential within 30 days of hire
• One of: EMT course completion; 1 year MA experience; MA education program; University Hospital MA certification program
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and basic clinical skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and record vital signs.
• Assist with clinical procedures including skin biopsies and allergy testing.
• Report patient concerns to licensed staff and perform CLIA-waived tests as directed.
• May perform patient phlebotomy after specialized training and document results.
• Chaperone providers during examinations and assist with procedures.
• Assist in clerical tasks: filing, charting, scheduling, and billing entries.
• Attend mandatory infection prevention, safety, CPR, and equipment training.
• Educate patients and families with health information and materials.
