Job summary

University of Utah seeks a Medical Assistant for Allergy & Immunology within our Dermatology clinics. You will assist with patient care, support licensed staff, and handle basic clerical tasks; travel to multiple sites incl. Murray, Salt Lake, and Lehi clinics may be required.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, assisting procedures, performing phlebotomy after training, and supporting education for patients and families. Requires EMR accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Completion of EMT course or MA education program or MA certification.
• One year of Medical Assistant experience in ambulatory care.
• Current eCredential within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examinations and records vitals and history.
• Assists with clinical procedures such as skin biopsies, allergy tests and injections.
• Reports concerns to a licensed staff member and may perform CLIA waved tests.
• Performs phlebotomy after training and adheres to clinic procedures.
• Acts as chaperone during examinations and assists with procedures.
• Maintains rooms and equipment, restocks supplies and cleans areas.
• Answers phones, schedules appointments and assists with billing entries.
