Job summary

Purcell Tire & Service Centers in Utah is seeking technicians to diagnose and complete vehicle alignments on commercial trucks and other vehicles, balance wheel assemblies, and perform tire service.

We encourage training for advancement into brake work, suspension, axle, and oil/lube services while maintaining safety and service ticket documentation. Applicants must have a driver’s license and relevant ASE or ATS certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Associate's Degree or Trade School
• Minimum Job-Specific Experience: 3-5 years
• Driver’s License Required: Yes
• Other Job-Specific Licenses or Certifications Required: Tire Industry Association ATS certification, ASE certifications, vendor-provided training

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, recommend, and complete vehicle alignment on commercial trucks and other vehicles based on guest needs.
• Balance wheel assemblies and perform commercial tire service.
• Pursue training opportunities for development into completing other vehicle services on commercial trucks, including brake work, suspension services, axle work, and oil and lube services.
• Document work performed on service ticket
• Maintain tools and a clean work area

• Regular attendance in accordance with assigned schedule

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (KSA’s)

Job-Specific KSA’s:

• Tire & Automotive Industry – Essential industry information including tire brands, designs, treads; proper safety and functional procedures, and relevant customer markets. Mastery of all major automotive emissions, engine management, and electrical systems
• Mechanical — Knowledge of automotive vehicles and tools, including their repair, and maintenance.
• Customer Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Equipment Maintenance — Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• Repairing — Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
• Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

Tools & Technology KSA’s:

• Equipment Selection — Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
• Phone Systems – Ability to operate phone systems for the effective communication of information to interested parties
