Job summary

Purcell Tire Company in Utah is seeking a skilled tire technician to diagnose and perform vehicle alignment on commercial trucks and other vehicles. You will balance wheels and conduct tire services while pursuing training for brake and suspension work where needed.

You will document all work on service tickets, maintain a clean, safe workspace, and adhere to company safety standards. A valid driver’s license and industry certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or trade school; 3–5 years in tire/auto service.
• Valid driver’s license; ATS and ASE certifications preferred.
• Proficient in tire service, alignment, and basic diagnostics.

MISSION

To provide safe, quality maintenance on passenger vehicles and heavy duty equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Diagnose, recommend, and complete vehicle alignment on commercial trucks and other vehicles based on guest needs.
• Balance wheel assemblies and perform commercial tire service.
• Pursue training opportunities for development into completing other vehicle services on commercial trucks, including but not limited to brake work, suspension services, axle work, and oil and lube services.
• Document work performed on service ticket
• Maintain tools and a clean work area

• Protect company assets
• Regular attendance in accordance with assigned schedule
• Ability to perform physical requirements as listed in job description

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

• Minimum Education: Associate's Degree or Trade School
• Minimum Job-Specific Experience: 3-5 years

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (KSA’s)

Job-Specific KSA’s:

• Tire & Automotive Industry – Essential industry information including tire brands, designs, treads; proper safety and functional procedures, and relevant customer markets. Mastery of all major automotive emissions, engine management, and electrical systems
• Mechanical — Knowledge of automotive vehicles and tools, including their repair, and maintenance.
• Customer Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Equipment Maintenance — Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• Repairing — Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
• Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

• Equipment Selection — Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
