Job summary

Gentex Corporation is seeking an Algorithm Engineer II to develop and optimize algorithms for Gentex products across Automotive, Aerospace, Fire Protection, and other areas. You will collaborate with software and hardware teams to implement algorithms and devise testing procedures to evaluate performance and accuracy.

In this role, you will work with large datasets, tackle large-scale problems, and own end-to-end development from design to deployment, while continuously optimizing for efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in algorithm engineering or related field.
• Strong math skills, especially in linear algebra and statistics.
• Experience with data collection, grading, algorithm development, and evaluation.
• Experience with C/C++, Python, or MATLAB.
• Experience with signal processing, image processing, and time-series data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize algorithms for Gentex products across Automotive, Aerospace, Fire Protection, and other areas.
• Collaborate with Software and Hardware Development Teams to create and implement algorithms in Gentex products and concepts.
• Implement testing procedures to evaluate algorithm performance, accuracy, and efficiency. Debug and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Work with large datasets to analyze performance and ensure the accuracy of algorithms in real-world scenarios.
• Solve challenging, large-scale problems with cutting-edge techniques, ensuring the scalability, efficiency, and accuracy of algorithms.
• Take full responsibility for end-to-end algorithm development, from initial design and prototype creation to final deployment and monitoring.
• Continuously optimize algorithms for performance, resource usage, and scalability, ensuring that they meet the company’s standards and requirements.
• Identify ways to improve the efficiency of Gentex processes throughout product development and manufacturing.
• Quickly learn new subject matter to be able to contribute to solving complex problems.
• Contribute to the process of data collection, analysis, and evaluation of results.
• Contribute to other groups needing assistance with algorithm development for products, concepts, and processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
