ARISCO CONTRACTING GROUP is seeking a skilled Mason to join our Michigan team. Candidates should have 3+ years of masonry experience, OSHA certification, and the ability to read technical drawings and use hand and power tools.

You will mix cement, bricks and mortar, cut materials to spec, and assist with stairs, chimneys, walls and walkways while maintaining tools and workspace. Reliability, teamwork, and physical stamina are essential to lift heavy materials up to 80 lbs and perform demanding

Qualifications

• 3+ years of masonry experience or equivalent.
• OSHA certification is required.
• Read technical drawings and use masonry tools safely.
• Physically able to lift up to 80 pounds and perform heavy manual labor.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work with a team.

Responsabilités

Masons

Masons need to be familiar with common masonry techniques and capable of using various hand and power tools. Masons should be OSHA trained and certified with a good understanding of safety procedures. Masons need to be self-motivated, knowing the task at hand and accomplishing it.

Mason Responsibilities:

• Mix and prepare cement, bricks, and mortar for structures
• Cut and shape materials to meet the job’s specifications

• Assist in the creation of stairs, chimneys, walls, frames, walkways, and other structures
• Interpret technical drawings and follow their instructions
• Do your part to maintain our tools and workspaces
• Lift and carry bricks, concrete blocks, and stones from place to place
• Assist with other tasks as asked of you by your supervisor/foreman including those typically done by a mason tender

Mason Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a mason apprenticeship or previous experience in a similar role, 3 years +

• Physical ability to perform manual labor for most of the day
• Familiarity with commonly-used masonry terms, techniques, tools, and materials
• Ability to work well both individually and as part of a team
• Lift an 80 lb. bag of mortar

• OSHA certification
• Must have reliable transportation

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
