Job summary

The State of Alaska seeks a motivated park operations professional to maintain and improve Halibut Point State Recreation Site in Sitka. You will oversee trails, facilities, and equipment, while leading the Alaska Conservation Corps and Volunteers In Parks teams in a dynamic field environment.

Role requires hands-on maintenance, safety stewardship, visitor engagement, and occasional travel to remote sites or communities in Southeast Alaska.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve park facilities and trails through repairs, maintenance, vegetation clearing, inspections, and janitorial work.
• Lead and manage the Alaska Conservation Corps and Volunteers In Parks programs, including recruiting and training.
• Provide visitor services, educational outreach, and interpretive programming.
• Operate and care for state equipment such as trucks, ATVs, boats, snow machines, and power tools.
• Perform administrative tasks including grant writing, timekeeping, purchasing, filing, and reporting.
