Job summary

Wostmann and Associates, Inc. in Juneau, Alaska, is seeking a Systems Administrator / Help Desk Support to join our onsite team supporting state and federal clients.

This full-time role covers help desk tickets, systems administration, network, desktop, and web-based applications, plus SAN and IT security tasks. The position requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent, 3–5 years of IT experience, and ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent combination).
• 3–5 years of experience in systems administration, help desk, or related IT role.
• Hands‑on experience with software release management, patching, and system upgrades.
• Experience performing system backups, recovery, and data integrity monitoring.
• Experience supporting network, desktop, and web-based application environments.
• Familiarity with SAN administration and IT security practices.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly in a dynamic IT support environment.
• Ability to pass a standard background investigation for client facility access.

Responsibilities

• Respond to help desk tickets, calls, and emails from client staff, coordinating with the client’s IT division to resolve issues.
• Install software releases, OS updates, and patches; evaluate and resolve software-related problems.
• Perform backups and recovery, and monitor configuration to maintain data integrity.
• Provide support across network, desktop, and web-based application environments.
• Support Storage Area Network (SAN) administration and troubleshooting.
• Assist with IT security tasks, including monitoring and resolving security issues.
• Document, track, and monitor tickets to ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinate with client technical contacts on task requests and priorities.
