Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation in Alaska seeks a Mine/Production Geologist to integrate geologic and blasthole data for grade control in open-pit operations at the Manh Choh project area. You will map dig faces, highwalls, blast patterns and reconcile ore releases with plans to optimize mill feed.

The role requires a BS in Geology/Geological/Mining Engineering, 2+ years in open-pit mining, and proficiency with geology software. Travel and shift work may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Geology, Geological Engineering, or Mining Engineering required.
• Experience in open-pit mining and grade control sampling preferred (2+ years).
• Proficiency with MineSight, Leapfrog, Ore Pro 3D or Vulcan preferred.

Responsibilities

• Integrate geologic data and blasthole results for ore releases.
• Map dig faces, highwalls, blast patterns and alterations.
• Develop QA/QC for blast hole assaying and prepare geologic maps.
• Collaborate with engineering on short- and long-range mine planning.
• Support loading and dispatch teams to minimize ore dilution.
• Maintain records and prepare grade control presentations.
