Job summary

State of Alaska is seeking a Maintenance Specialist BFC Journey 1 to maintain State facilities in Tazlina, Tok, or Valdez. The role requires knowledge across electrical, mechanical, painting, plumbing, and pipefitting, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The position is eligible for overtime and pays $32.76 hourly. Alaska residency is required for applicants, and a valid Alaska driver’s license is needed. Opportunities exist to contribute to Alaska’s public infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical equipment, components, instruments, and systems.
• Knowledge of machines and tools used in maintenance and repair.
• Ability to apply coatings and surface treatments on various materials.
• Knowledge of pipelines, fittings, and associated systems.
• Ability to identify problems, evaluate information, and propose solutions.

Responsibilities

• Construct, troubleshoot, repair and maintain State facilities.
• Work semi-independently within state statutes and codes to ensure efficiency and economy.
