Job summary

Holland America Line and Princess Cruises are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure the Denali Lodge remains safe, clean, and fully functional. You will perform routine and emergency maintenance, coordinate with the maintenance team, and ensure high standards of service for guests and staff in Alaska.

The role requires technical skills in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, with a commitment to safety and the ability to spend nights on-site per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to spend a minimum of three nights on the property per workweek and respond to after-hours needs.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in facilities maintenance.
• Strong technical skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance and responds to after-hours maintenance on building systems; tests performance and reliability.
• Repairs and maintains facilities systems, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety equipment; conducts safety inspections.
• Maintains and services equipment, including HVAC/refrigeration components and related systems.
• Identifies repair needs requiring contractors; monitors contractor work and documents progress.
• Trains seasonal staff on facilities maintenance tasks and keeps records of maintenance activities.
• Responds to emergencies to ensure facilities remain operational and assists with winter operations where applicable.
• Operates service vehicles and maintains safety records and reports.
