State of Alaska’s Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Commercial Fisheries, seeks a Fish and Game Program Technician in Nome, Alaska. You will be the first contact point for the public, handling licensing and permit duties while supporting accounting tasks and data entry.

The role involves interacting with residents across the Norton Sound region, occasional travel to villages, and flexible hours during fisheries seasons. A valid driver’s license is required.

Formación

• Two years of office clerical experience or technical experience related to fish, wildlife or habitat resources.
• OR one year of experience providing advanced clerical services based on established procedures, precedents, and policies in administrative, informative, and/or programmatic functions.

Responsabilidades

• Answer questions from the public regarding Fish & Game regulations, openings and closures, and direct the public to biological staff.
• Issue fishing, hunting and trapping licenses and tags and permits and provide accounting and clerical support.
• Data entry, report generation, processing payroll and travel authorizations for biological staff.
• Support field camps by shopping for supplies and traveling to villages and camps as needed.
