Job summary

RurAL CAP in Anchorage, Alaska seeks a Disaster Case Worker to provide direct support to individuals and families referred to AKVOAD. This role centers on compassionate, culturally centered case management for Typhoon Halong survivors in Southcentral Alaska, Bethel, and Western Alaska.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years in case management or related fields.
• Preferred: BA in social work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field.
• Experience working with rural Alaska communities and Alaska Native populations.
• Strong written and spoken communication; ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work in a team, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of disaster case workers to serve Survivors in Southcentral Alaska and remote Western Alaska.
• Attend regular team, coordination, and partner meetings.
• Manage a caseload, support goal-setting, recovery planning, and resource navigation.
• Coordinate services, resources, and follow-up with clients throughout recovery.
• Maintain confidential case files and documentation per policies.
• Communicate with partner agencies to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist with data entry, reporting, and documentation for grants and evaluation.
• Support communications, trainings, and events with partner organizations.
