What You Get To Do

  • Performs maintenance of all fire protection equipment.
  • Responsible for annual inspections at each location.
  • Must have the ability to perform as a team member in job specific tasks.
  • Must have the ability to complete tasks assigned within time constraints implied by park guidelines.
  • Must have electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all fire systems.
  • Must keep working areas neat, clean, and tidy.
  • Must perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment, to include all fire and security and Head End Interface equipment.
  • This position requires dependable performance in terms of attendance, performance, acceptance of assignments, and strict adherence to all safety policies and requirements.
  • Must be able to work well as a team player and interact well within a group.
  • Must be able to work all shifts and weekends.
  • Must be familiar and able to operate tools of trade including VOM, tone generator, and amplifiers, etc.
  • Must be able to read, troubleshoot blueprints and installation drawings.

What It Takes To Succeed

  • Must be at least 18 year old
  • Must possess proficient use of the English language.
  • Basic mathematical skills are required, as well as adequate reading and writing skills.
  • Nicet Fire Alarm Systems Level I or 4 years experience in an industrial environment.
  • Working Knowledge of National Fire Alarm Code NFPA 72
  • Familiar with ADT Unimode and Focus 200 systems. Notifier 640 systems.
  • Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services ES Technician (in Virginia).
  • Valid local driver’s license.

Essential Skills/abilities And Experience

  • Ability to understand operation of addressable and Zone Base equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose electrical problems in hard wired and software circuits.
  • Must be able to pass all competency tests offered.
  • Must be a self-motivator with good initiative and flexibility. Should be able to organize and plan daily workload with little supervision and possess good communication skills.
  • Should possess good interpersonal skills and communicative abilities.
  • Must be able to work well as a team player and interact well within a group.

Physical Demands

  • This position is physically demanding.
  • Requires full mobility, including ability to walk, sit, stand, stoop, climb, push, pull, bend, and squat.
  • Must be able to lift items 50 pounds to 100 pounds safely.
  • Must be able to stand on ladders for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb up various heights (200+ feet) on all types of ladders to reach rooftops, Ride lifts, etc.
