What you get to do:
- Perform maintenance of all fire protection equipment.
- Be responsible for annual inspections at each location.
- Have the ability to perform as a team member in job specific tasks.
- Complete tasks assigned within time constraints implied by park guidelines.
- Have electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all fire systems.
- Keep working areas neat, clean, and tidy.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment, including all fire and security and Head End Interface equipment.
- This position requires dependable performance in terms of attendance, performance, acceptance of assignments, and strict adherence to all safety policies and requirements.
- Work well as a team player and interact positively within a group.
- Be able to work all shifts and weekends.
- Be familiar and able to operate tools of trade including VOM, tone generator, and amplifiers.
- Read, troubleshoot blueprints and installation drawings.
What it takes to succeed:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Proficient use of the English language.
- Basic mathematical skills, as well as adequate reading and writing skills.
- Nicet Fire Alarm Systems Level I or 4 years experience in an industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of National Fire Alarm Code NFPA 72.
- Familiarity with ADT Unimode, Focus 200, and Notifier 640 systems.
- Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services ES Technician certification (in Virginia).
- Valid local driver’s license.
Essential skills/abilities and experience:
- Understand operation of addressable and Zone Base equipment.
- Diagnose electrical problems in hard wired and software circuits.
- Pass all competency tests offered.
- Be a self-motivator with good initiative and flexibility; organize and plan daily workload with little supervision and possess good communication skills.
- Possess good interpersonal skills and communicative abilities.
- Work well as a team player and interact positively within a group.
Physical Demands:
- This position is physically demanding.
- Requires full mobility, including ability to walk, sit, stand, stoop, climb, push, pull, bend, and squat.
- Must be able to lift items 50 pounds to 100 pounds safely.
- Must be able to stand on ladders for long periods of time.
- Must be able to climb various heights (200+ feet) on all types of ladders to reach rooftops, ride lifts, etc.
