Job summary

KELTEC Industrial Filtration in Chicago seeks a Production Supervisor to lead the hourly workforce, plan resources, and ensure safety and quality standards across production. You will coordinate with quality, supply chain, and HR to meet customer demands and improve efficiency.

The role requires a BS in a related field and at least 5 years of operations management in manufacturing, with strong leadership, communication, and bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to planning, organizing and utilizing resources (human, materials, and equipment) effectively and within safety and quality standards. This position works in collaboration with a variety of other departments including quality, supply chain, other production departments, production leadership and human resources.

Production Supervisor
Reports to: Production Manager
Position Purpose This position is responsible for providing overall supervision to the hourly workforce. Responsibilities include but are not limited to planning, organizing and utilizing resources (human, materials, and equipment) effectively and within safety and quality standards. This position works in collaboration with a variety of other departments including quality, supply chain, other production departments, production leadership and human resources.
Essential Functions

• Plan and organize resources to ensure organizational and customer goals are met.
• Scheduling jobs / work orders to meet customer demands while also maximizing departmental efficiency.
• Provide direction and supervision to the hourly workforce to ensure goals are met with regard to safety, quality, and production; including but not limited to coaching and feedback, conducting performance reviews and disciplinary actions, as appropriate.
• Complete a variety of reports with regard to safety, production, quality, employee performance, and etc.
• Maintain appropriate communication and documentation of changes and updates to production process and document SOPs, in collaboration with the Quality Department.
• Conduct timely communication meetings, safety training, and other meetings as required to ensure high levels of communication are maintained.
  

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in the Management, Engineering or related field a plus
• Minimum 5 years operations management experience in the manufacturing leadership experience
• Demonstrated strong leadership skills with exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, multi-task and prioritize workload
• Ability to take initiative, with a demonstrated passion and commitment for getting the job done right the first time
• Excellent computer skills are required, Microsoft Office, with working knowledge of ERP systems
• Effective problem solving skills with an eye towards proactive solutions
• Bi-lingual Spanish preferred
  

Working Conditions Position will primarily be located in a plant environment with frequent requirements to conduct work in the warehouse or production areas. Other requirements including standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, fingering, grasping, use of personal computer and related office equipment, and a minimum 40 work hours per week. Minimal travel may be required.
