Job summary

Siri InfoSolutions Inc. in Irving, TX is seeking an experienced AIX Unix Administrator to lead enterprise IBM AIX and Power Systems operations. You will manage PowerVM, VIOS, HMC, LPAR, NIM, and PowerHA environments, while administering PowerVC and OpenShift Virtualization to modernize workloads.

Qualifications

• IBM AIX Administration at enterprise scale with 10+ years experience.
• Expertise in IBM Power Systems including PowerVM, VIOS, HMC, LPAR.
• Proficient in IBM PowerVC Administration and automation.
• Experience with NIM and PowerHA/HACMP for high availability.
• Hands-on with Red Hat OpenShift and OpenShift Virtualization.
• Storage expertise: SAN, NPIV and Fibre Channel.
• Scripting in Shell, plus Ansible and Python for automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning capabilities.
• Experience in disaster recovery, backups, and security hardening.

Responsibilities

• Lead admin, maintenance, and L3 support of IBM AIX, IBM Power Systems, PowerVM, VIOS, HMC, LPAR, NIM, and PowerHA environments.
• Administer and troubleshoot IBM PowerVC, including VM provisioning, lifecycle mgmt, capacity optimization, and automation.
• Design and support Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization platforms to modernize VM workloads.
• Perform advanced admin tasks: upgrades, patching, performance tuning, security hardening, capacity planning, and root-cause analysis.
• Manage enterprise storage across SAN, NPIV, Fibre Channel, multipathing, and IBM storage.
• Develop automation with Shell, Ansible, Python, and OpenShift CLI to improve ops.
• Lead migrations and modernization of AIX workloads, PowerVM, PowerVC, and OpenShift virtualization.
• Collaborate with infra, network, storage, cloud, security, and app teams to build resilient, scalable solutions.
• Monitor availability, performance, capacity, and security; ensure SLAs and change control compliance.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Provide L3 technical leadership, mentor juniors, and drive best practices.
• Create and maintain architecture docs, runbooks, and SOPs.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the administration, maintenance, and Level 3 support of enterprise IBM AIX, IBM Power Systems, PowerVM, VIOS, HMC, LPAR, NIM, and PowerHA environments.
• Administer and troubleshoot IBM PowerVC, including virtual machine provisioning, lifecycle management, capacity optimization, resource monitoring, and virtualization automation.
• Design, deploy, configure, and support Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization platforms to modernize and manage traditional virtual machine workloads.
• Perform advanced system administration activities, including AIX upgrades, patching, performance tuning, security hardening, capacity planning, automation, and root cause analysis.
• Manage enterprise storage integration across SAN, NPIV, Fibre Channel, multipathing, and IBM storage platforms.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using Shell Scripting, Ansible, Python, and OpenShift CLI to improve operational efficiency and platform reliability.
• Lead migration and modernization initiatives involving AIX workloads, PowerVM environments, PowerVC, and OpenShift-based virtualization platforms.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, storage, cloud, security, and application teams to design and implement resilient, scalable, and highly available solutions.
• Monitor platform availability, performance, capacity, and security while ensuring compliance with established SLAs, operational standards, and change‑management processes.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform detailed root cause analysis, and implement preventive and permanent corrective actions.
• Provide Level 3 technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, support technical reviews, and drive operational best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and operational runbooks.
