Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Eastern Service Center Operations Support Group Specialist to provide technical, analytical, and coordination support for NAS airspace modernization initiatives in College Park, GA. The role emphasizes airspace evaluation, rulemaking, and integration with FAA policy and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include developing documentation, assessing airspace alternatives, and ensuring operational justification and compliance across the National Airspace System.

Qualifications

• 10+ years FAA Air Traffic Controller experience in a Terminal or Enroute facility.
• National Airspace System and FAA Directives knowledge.
• Planning: data gathering and analysis; develop reports, schedules, and studies.
• Clear and concise technical writing; effective technical presentations; stakeholder coordination.
• Organized documentation and awareness of documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Gather, generate, update, and maintain NAS safety documentation for changes.
• Develop purpose-and-need statements, problem descriptions, and scope definitions for airspace actions.
• Develop and compare airspace alternatives with benefits, constraints, and tradeoffs.
• Support design, modification, or removal of controlled and special-use airspace to meet NAS needs.
• Track airspace actions through coordination, approval, and publication milestones.
• Maintain functional files in compliance with FAA and federal regulations.
• Identify hazards, operational risks, and mitigations for proposed airspace actions.
• Develop and maintain airspace modernization plans, schedules and roadmaps.
• Review procedural concepts to assess airspace compatibility and operational impact.
• Provide TERPS/IFP advisory support as needed for evaluations and decisions.
• Support timing, charting considerations, and stakeholder communications related to airspace actions.
