Job summary

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners seeks an Airport Operations Supervisor-Security to oversee aviation security compliance within the Security Compliance Division. You will coordinate 24/7 operations, respond to airport users’ needs, and ensure safety and security of property, employees, visitors and passengers.

The role requires managing security programs per 49 CFR parts 1520, 1540, and 1542, reporting activities, and working with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in airport management, business administration or closely related field.
• Four years airport operations experience, including one year in lead/supervisory role.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Manage aviation security compliance and supervision.
• Perform security inspections and airport emergency response in a 24/7 environment.
• Ensure compliance with 49 CFR 1520, 1540, 1542 and TSA directives.
• Develop and implement training, plans and procedures for the Airport Security Operations Group.
• Stand and walk up to seven hours per shift; access remote areas; respond to emergencies.
• Work shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Pass extensive security screening as required by law.
