Allied Universal in Lihue, Hawaii, is seeking an Airport Security Officer: Part-Time for Tue and Sat shifts. You will provide customer service to travelers, enforcement of security procedures, and maintain a visible security presence at the airport.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and contractors while following security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, and emergencies calmly, notifying appropriate airport personnel and responders.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of airport terminals, public areas, parking facilities, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activities, reporting policy violations, hazards, and unusual conditions.
• Prepare accurate activity logs and incident reports, and communicate information to supervisors.

Pay Rate: $26.50 / Hour

Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License (+1 years)

• 18+ years of age

• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently

• Ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug screening
• Ability to pass a background check according to the DOT Pass and ID office

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and/or contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an airport location.
• Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate airport personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of airport terminals, public areas, parking facilities, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activities within assigned areas, reporting policy violations, hazards, and/or unusual conditions according to site procedures.
• Prepare accurate activity logs and incident reports, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and designated personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
