ERMC is seeking an Airport Security Employee Screener Agent for JFK in Jamaica, NY. This full-time, non-exempt role ensures proper access control for airport staff and compliance with TSA and Port Authority policies.

You will operate screening equipment, verify IDs, and maintain logs during the 4:00pm–10:30pm shifts on Fri–Sun. Ideal candidates are at least 18, legally authorized to work in the United States, with a NYS Security Guard license.

Qualifications

• Must be a local resident (in-state).
• Must have NYS Licensed Security Guard.
• Must pass pre-employment screening and background check.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States.
• Must complete SIDA and Security Guard training to obtain PANYNJ.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant visibility, vigilance, and alertness during the shift.
• Operate X-ray machine, walk-through metal detector, and handheld detector.
• Write clear, concise reports.
• Verify proper identification before granting access to the building.
• Screen employees and belongings and resolve alarms before access.
• Document inquiries, incidents, or findings in security records.
• Report any criminal or suspicious activities related to property, personnel, or operations.
• Inform management of emergencies or security incidents and take necessary measures.
• Take charge of emergencies and report to the security screening supervisor.
• Keep track of keys, radios, and equipment inventory.

The Security Employee Screener manages access control and provisioning for all airport staff who enter the different employee access points for ERMC clients at the terminal and ensures the staff has proper authorization and access to the SIDA area.

Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities

• Maintain constant visibility, vigilant awareness, and alertness throughout the shift.
• Must operate an X-ray machine, a walk-through-metal detector, and a hand-held metal detector.
• Write clear and concise reports.
• Verify proper identification before granting access to the building.
• Must be able to screen employees and their belongings and resolve all alarms before authorizing access.
• Document any inquiries, incidents, or findings in security.

• Mandatory shift days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
• Mandatory shift hours: 4:00pm - 10:30pm

Experience:

• Being open and willing to collaborate with a detail-oriented team is necessary.
• Airport security or employee screening experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• A strong work ethic is a must.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Maintaining strict confidentiality is essential.

Must be fluent in speaking and writing English.
