Job summary

City and County of Denver seeks an Assistant Director of Airport Security – Compliance and Enforcement to lead regulatory compliance, security programs, and contractual oversight at Denver International Airport. This senior leader will drive risk mitigation, program governance, and cross‑functional collaboration with federal, state, and local agencies.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 3+ years of supervisory airport operations experience, ASC/NIMS/ICS training timelines,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Management, Communications or related field.
• Three years of progressive and supervisory experience in airport operations/management.
• Experience at a commercial airport or military facility at an administrator or supervisor level or higher.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Completion of ASC training within six months of employment.
• NIMS and ICS training to fulfill Section Chief/Incident Commander responsibilities within six months.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance and enforcement programs and regulatory requirements.
• Lead contracts, budgeting, and vendor relationships for security programs.
• Guide strategic planning, project management, and performance oversight.
• Represent Airport Security in executive meetings and stakeholder forums.
• Foster a high-performing, accountable, service-oriented team culture.
