Job description

Several seasonal positions available with the Aviation Department, Field Maintenance Division, located at 154 Tokyo Street. *Seasonal work lasts approximately six (6) months

Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. *Mandatory overtime during inclement weather and emergencies

Job Responsibilities

• Participates in collection of trash and routine grounds keeping.

• Operates trimmers, mowers, and other small engine equipment.

• Pick up sticks, limbs, and other branch material.

• Waters and cares for grass, plants, trees shrubs, and flowers.

• Shovel gravel, mulch, river rock, dirt, and other loose grand covering material.

• Assist in tasks for painting airfield including laying shingles for overspray.

• Assist in task for filling potholes and concrete pouring or repair.

• Participates in snow removal activities and related duties as required.

• Occasionally light operates to moderately heavy automotive and related equipment as necessary to carry through assigned installation and repair work.

• Must be able to work with a group or complete assignments on own.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRES high school graduation OR six (6) months of experience in general labor. May be required to possess a valid state-issued driver’s license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
