Job summary

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher and Asphalt Worker to maintain, repair, and construct pavements at Reagan National Airport. You will operate a range of construction equipment and perform both emergency and planned repairs to runways, taxiways, and sidewalks.

The role requires adherence to safety procedures and the ability to work in a high-demand airport environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years of progressively responsible experience maintaining and repairing concrete and asphalt pavements.
• Knowledge of asphalt and concrete paving procedures and sub-surface prep to proper depth and firmness.
• Skill in using tools, manuals, schematics, blueprints, and equipment in paving trade work.
• Ability to speak and write effectively and operate a computer/work order system.

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency and planned repairs of asphalt and concrete pavements.
• Mills, breaks up, and removes damaged pavement areas to specified measurements.
• Heat and apply asphalt tack coat; spread and seal joints as needed.
• Operate dump trucks and loaders; assist in installation of signs and barriers.
• Conduct daily vehicle and equipment inspections and report issues to supervisor.
