Job summary

Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) is seeking an Airport Operations Specialist Supervisor to lead a team of Operations Specialists in daily security and airport operations. You will coach staff, manage access control, respond to incidents, and ensure regulatory compliance under Title 49 CFR parts 1540, 1542, 1544.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and teamwork, with ability to recall for emergencies and maintain RTAA values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in aviation management, public administration, or related field.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible management experience in security/operations.
• Airport Security Coordinator certification within 1 year of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff responsible for airport terminal and security services; ensure TSA compliance.
• Monitor security trends, technologies, and regulations; recommend system/process improvements.
• Oversee daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of security personnel.
• Inspect and screen goods, people, and premises; protect confidentiality of investigations.
