Job summary

County of Sonoma’s Airports Division in Santa Rosa is seeking an Airport Operations Specialist Trainee. You will learn to perform a wide range of airport operations, maintenance, security, and emergency response duties at the Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport.

The role requires shift work including evenings, weekends, and holidays; a valid driver’s license; and willingness to obtain FAA and TSA trainings. Starting salary up to $40.75/hour ($85,050/year) with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years of exterior/interior building maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and write English and perform basic arithmetic.
• Driver’s license required and willingness to learn FAA/TSA rules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain airport equipment, facilities, and grounds including airfield systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of landside, airside, and terminal facilities.
• Ensure compliance with FAA regulations (FAR Part 139) and TSA rules.
• Coordinate emergency services and incident response with stakeholders.
• Organize and maintain files, records, and logs for operations.
• Operate airport vehicles and learn to work under emergency conditions.
