Job summary

City of Durango’s Durango-La Plata County Airport internship offers hands-on experience in airport operations for recent graduates with an Airport Management degree. Over 26 weeks, you’ll work full-time with the Operations Department to gain practical exposure to all aspects of airport operations.

Winter months require flexibility for snowplow shifts, with a $560 monthly snow removal bonus from December through March.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Airport Management or closely related field.
• Hands-on experience in airport operations is a plus.
• Ability to work full-time for 26 weeks and adapt to seasonal shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Airport Operations Department with inspections of airfields, perimeters, security areas, fuel farms, parking lots, and other facilities to ensure compliance with airport regulations.
• Oversee public relations, marketing, air service development, and construction & planning projects.
• Prepare and maintain FAA documentation and other required manuals and regulations.
