Job summary

City and County of San Francisco is seeking an Airport Duty Manager at SFO. The role oversees all airport activities, coordinating staff across terminals, security, airfield, and support services to ensure safe and efficient operations.

The ADM reports to the Managing Director of Airport Services and serves as the principal representative of the Airport Director, including emergencies 24/7. A bachelor’s degree and 5 years of airport experience are required.

Qualifications

• Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Five (5) years of professional-level airport/aviation work experience in customer service, facilities, or operations at a medium to large airport.
• License and Certification: Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver’s license prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all airport staff operations to ensure safety and security of passengers, tenants, and staff.
• Identify problems and initiate corrective actions; coordinate with senior management, tenants, and officials to set work priorities.
• Conduct briefings with senior staff and manage communications during critical events using Passur and Everbridge.
• Coordinate safety and scheduling for construction/maintenance to minimize disruptions and ensure CFR 1540-1542 compliance.
• Manage Emergency Operations Center during emergencies and act as Senior Leader on duty and media spokesperson when off hours.
