Job summary

Shelby County Airport is seeking an experienced Airport Operations Manager to supervise and coordinate all airport programs and services, including fueling operations, hangar leases, safety and regulatory compliance, and tenant relations.

The role involves managing staffing, contracts, and inventory, coordinating with FAA/ALDOT inspectors, and supporting budget and facility contracts. Applicants should have related education or equivalent aviation experience and be prepared for nonstandard hours.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising or directing service employees in a lead capacity.
• Experience coordinating contracts, service providers and inventory in aviation.
• Knowledge of aviation safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Understanding of FAA regulations and ALDOT Aeronautics requirements.

Responsibilities

• Exercise management and oversight of all airport services and activities.
• Create and monitor daily staffing schedules for airport operations.
• Monitor fuel inventory and coordinate fuel orders for resale.
• Ensure purchasing complies with Alabama bid laws and contracts.
• Coordinate fuel inventory audits with accounting for inventory control.
• Assist in development of marketing outreach efforts.
