Airport Operations Command ManagerPicture the concourse coming to life at dawn. As the on-duty operations leader, you are the conductor of that rhythm—monitoring passenger flows, aligning airside and landside activities, and keeping every partner in sync. When an irregular operation emerges, you triage, decide, and mobilize. When performance is steady, you anticipate the next bottleneck before it forms. This role sits at the center of the airport’s daily mission: safe, compliant, and seamless operations for travelers, staff, and airline partners.What You Will LeadRun daily terminal and ramp operations during your duty window to uphold safety and efficiency.Coordinate continuously with security, customer service, maintenance, and ground handling teams to ensure end-to-end continuity.Direct the response to operational irregularities and on-site emergencies with clear, timely decisions.Ensure adherence to applicable aviation regulations and internal policies; escalate issues as required.Track passenger throughput and terminal activity; adjust resources and processes to optimize service quality.Resolve customer concerns and operational disruptions promptly and professionally.Coach, support, and guide front-line and support staff to sustain high performance.Maintain strong communication with airline representatives, ground handlers, and airport authorities.Take on additional assignments as designated by leadership.What You BringAt least 18 years of age with a valid state-issued driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.5+ years in transportation or aviation operations and a solid understanding of the aviation industry.Fluent in English across reading, writing, and speaking; able to interpret both printed and digital information.Comfort with technology, including tablets, computers, and mobile devices; ability to communicate effectively in person and electronically.Capability to obtain required clearances and credentials (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, and U.S. Postal, as applicable).Schedule flexibility to support a 24/7 environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentLift and handle items up to 70 lbs.Stand and walk for extended periods in both indoor and outdoor settings, as conditions require.Reach overhead and forward; grasp and handle objects.Push and pull equipment as needed.Bend, stretch, squat, and kneel during operational tasks.Work amid moderate to occasionally high noise levels.Hear and respond to spoken instructions and audible alarms.Perform repetitive motions involving arms, wrists, hands, and fingers.Maintain visual capabilities including close and distance vision, peripheral awareness, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Compliance and Legal NoticesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential requirement satisfactorily.
