Milwaukee County is seeking seasonal maintenance staff for snow removal and landscaping at the Airport. Candidates will contribute to active snow operations and grounds maintenance, requiring physical stamina and the ability to work in adverse weather conditions. All interested applicants must reside in Wisconsin.
Milwaukee County oversees operations from our Airport, Behavioral Health, Child Support Enforcement, Combined Court Operations, Sheriffs Department, Community Reintegration Center, Human Services, Parks, Public Safety, Public Works, Fleet Operations, Transportation, and at the Zoo. Department – Maintenance
Hourly Pay - $21.29 per hour
Job Summary:After completing initial training, work shifts as needed. Seasonal staff will be called in for active snow removal efforts and to be on standby in preparation for impending snow. Areas of responsibility for snow removal to include on and off the airfield and in the public areas of the Airport. In addition to snow removal operations, seasonals will also be responsible for landscaping of grounds, litter and trash clean up, operating and maintain equipment and vehicles, and other tasks, as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
NOTE: This original application is open to permanent residents of the state of Wisconsin at the time of application. In accordance withSection 11, Rule3 of theCivil Service Rules a non-competitive examination will be held for this position. The non-competitive examination will consist of criteria deemed appropriate by the Director of Human Resources.
