Job summary

Amarillo Airport is seeking an Airport Mechanic I to perform entry and journeyman level maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems, operate heavy equipment, and safely work on active runways and taxiways. You will inspect and repair the airfield, terminal, and landside operations.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance of baggage handling gear, HVAC, pumps, and electrical systems; completing work orders; and participating in snow removal and 24-hour

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to drive on an active airfield within 60 days.
• Pass TSA background check and drug/alcohol screening.
• Complete FEMA NIMS training within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on airport equipment and systems.
• First responder duties per Airport Emergency Plan as needed.
• Repair and maintain mechanical/electrical systems incl. pumps, boilers, chillers, and switchgear.
• Operate HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems; assist with snow removal.
• Complete work orders and document maintenance; participate in on-call shifts.
