Job summary

Abby’s Catering in Houston’s airport lounge is seeking a Food Prep Cook to prepare high-quality dishes from standardized recipes for travelers. You will work with the culinary team, maintain a clean, safe station, and follow production plans.

The role requires at least 1 year of cook experience, agility with varied schedules, and a valid food handler certification. You will need to commute to IAH daily and help ensure food safety and timely service.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of cook experience in a food service environment.
Flexible, open availability for all shifts.
Food handler certification required.
Able to commute to IAH Airport daily.

Responsibilities

Prepare food items according to standardized recipes and production plans.
Execute batch cooking using proper tools and measurements (scales, scoops, etc.)
Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation throughout the shift.
Accurately complete food safety and quality (FSQ) logs in real time.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
Monitor waste and assist with waste log tracking for quality and cost control.
Communicate shortages, discrepancies, or quality concerns to leadership.
Collaborate with Prep Cooks, Helpers, and culinary team members to meet production needs.
Keep the dish area clean, organized, and stocked, and put clean items away in their proper places.
