Full-time: $54,779/base annual salary

Part-time: $21,609/average annual compensation

Work Hours: Rotating 24-hour shifts, A-B-C Schedule

We are hiring Airport Firefighter Paramedic with a passion for firefighting and a demonstrated commitment to cultivating a positive, collaborative work environment.

Job Summary:

This is skilled firefighting work in combating, extinguishing, and preventing aircraft, structural, ground equipment, and other fires. Responsibilities include answering emergency calls, operating and maintaining fire department equipment, apparatus, and station facilities. The work involves training for and participating in duties to protect life and property through firefighting and rescue activities, usually under close supervision. Employees are required to learn and participate in apparatus operation and hazardous tasks under challenging conditions such as smoke and cramped surroundings. While firefighting and rescue are the most demanding tasks, the majority of time is spent on routine duties like maintenance, training, and studying methods and techniques. Specific orders are given by Lieutenants or Battalion Chiefs, but initiative and understanding of firefighting methods are essential.

Position Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED; background investigation and pre-employment drug screening required.
• NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications.
• NFPA 1001 Firefighter II certification (State or IFSAC).
• NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials-Operations certification (State or IFSAC).
• NFPA 1003 Airport Firefighter certification (State or IFSAC) or completion of an FAA 40-hour approved course with current annual burn.
• Ohio State Paramedic certification at time of hire; must maintain EMS certification throughout employment.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; DUI within last 5 years is disqualifying.
• Pass FBI fingerprint-based criminal history check to obtain/maintain security badge.
