Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is seeking a Firefighter II – EMT Trainee to safeguard lives at Washington Dulles or Reagan National airports. You will respond to emergencies, perform firefighting and EMS functions, and support training programs under supervision.

Position requires valid EMT and Firefighter certifications, a clean background, and the ability to pass medical and physical tests. Competitive pay in the listed range and comprehensive benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old by closing date.
• Must pass background checks including employment history, credit, criminal, and driving records.
• Must pass medical, vision, and drug screening examinations.
• Must pass physical ability and polygraph examinations.
• Must pass a written exam.
• Operational knowledge of hazmat incident response and basic firefighting and rescue skills.

Responsabilités

• Respond to emergency incidents and mitigate emergencies as trained.
• Drive and operate fire apparatus safely; inspect equipment.
• Lead or participate in fire ground operations to ensure safety and property protection.
• Assess situations, minimize risk, and determine action per guidelines.
• Lead or assist with training sessions and EMS internship programs.
• Support station maintenance and participate in community relations programs.
