Job summary

The City of Brownsville is seeking an Airport Facilities Technician to manage and coordinate safe operations of the airport's facilities and terminal activities. The role establishes procedures to optimize resource use and collaborates with other city departments to meet objectives.

Responsibilities include overseeing HVAC, baggage systems, gates and electrical tasks; reading blueprints; troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems; and training staff on basic maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand technical materials, reports and journals.
• Knowledge of government regulations and compliance.
• Experience with airport facilities operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of airport facilities including HVAC, baggage systems, gates, electrical work.
• Read, write and understand blueprints.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems to repair faults.
• Train staff on minor maintenance procedures and operations.
• Use CMMS software to manage maintenance tasks.
• Provide input for annual departmental budget and monitor spending.
• Support maintenance of 400 Hz systems and boarding equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
